The courage to dare - A cathedral, a city, a vision of greatness

As of 1 June 2016 the Teatro Niccolini will be included in a special tour involving visitors to the Grande Museo del Duomo.

This historic theatre will host the screening of the film The Courage to Dare, a 15-minute short produced by the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore in conjunction with Rai.com and directed by Elisa Fuksas, providing an introduction to a visit to the monumental complex of Piazza Duomo.

The film is a tale of Florence in the Middle Ages, the historical and cultural context in which the cathedral of Florence was first conceived and began to take shape, but at the same time it explains the monumental complex's artistic and religious significance and provides a wealth of information on the recently renovated Museo dell'Opera del Duomo. 

The projection of movie will be aired every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday, in the timetable between 10am and 5pm at the Teatro Niccolini in Via Ricasoli, 3. The price of the Single Ticket includes admission to the theatre to view the film, offering you a richer and even more comprehensive experience.

Single Ticket: € 15.00– also includes admission to Giotto's bell tower, Brunelleschi's Dome, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, the Baptistry of San Giovanni and Santa Reparata

Admission to the film alone costs € 2.00*

*The € 2.00 ticket, which can only be purchased at the Teatro Niccolini box office, admits the holder to the Teatro Niccolini only. It can also be converted at the ticket office of the Grande Museo del Duomo (Art and Culture Centre, Giotto's bell tower, crypt of Santa Reparata and Museo dell'Opera del Duomo) for a ticket admitting the holder to all of the monuments in the complex. The holder will only be required to pay the € 13.00 difference.

Opening times

The times of access to the monuments are subject to changes in time due to extraordinary events. The museum will be closed on the first Tuesday of each month.
